Regaining my health and taking a break...again.
After being a soapmaker for 25 years here in the State of Missouri and spending the last 12 years marketing my little area of the world, I need a break. The store is not closing for good, but I will return May 1st, 2025 as that is when our Spring Festival here in the Arcadia Valley begins and summer kicks off.
Originally, I had planned to reopen on February 28th and have online shopping open earlier than that but seems like it's not to be the case. If you have a gift card, please don't fret! I have extended all gift certificate that expired in 2024-2025 to be good until 2028. For those of you that would rather have the gift cards refunded, I completely understand, and you are welcome to send me a photo of your certificate with the numbers plus a mailing address, and I will send you a check for your balance. Otherwise, the cards are good until 2028.
Through 2024 I wasn't open as often as previously as I started to become physically slower than normal. Seems I have some medical issues that I need to take care of, I have an elderly friend that I help with his medical problems (we are quite the pair!), my mother needs help every now and again, and there is that darling man called my husband, that would like to see me less stressed. In December when the doctor took my blood pressure, I thought all was good, but I guess a 159 over 101 isn't that great. I wondered why I was having a hard time breathing and gaining so much weight suddenly. Mom said I was getting fat, turns out it is water retention on my heart. For several weeks I was having a very hard time even walking in my house. While I have dropped my numbers quite a bit from diet, exercise and stress management, I still would like to see the numbers lower. Being of the herbalist mindset, fasting and herbal concoctions have seemed to help drop my numbers and I do feel better. But now my friend Jim needs help after his surgery, my mom has a few requests and Colin & I bought another building that needs some help.
Something has to give, and I feel soap can survive another 2 months without me. I had had MoSoap.com open but will need to close that too as it's kept me stressed and just am not feeling very creative, so I don't feel the soap is that good when I am under the weather. I believe I have refunded everyone's order that I owed product to. It wasn't personal just couldn't fill the orders. I sent emails but many people said they never saw them- I'm sorry for that not sure why.
No Easter soap bunnies this year but I know there are loads of other wonderful soapmakers in the area that will be happy to whip up something special for you!
