BOTANICAL EARTH TO SPONSOR "HER VOICE HER VIEW" FILM FESTIVAL
Indie Artisans Join to Support New York Showcase of Female Filmmakers
June 22, 2006, Winfield, MO--Botanical Earth lip balms are making an encore appearance in July at the "Her Voice Her View" Women's Film Festival next month in New York City. BE Hemp and Mint lip balms made their movie extravaganza debut in June at the MTV Movie Awards, when they were jury-selected for the Sampler Package and Pre-Show Style Room. This time around, BE is leaving the mainstream and joining a group of like-minded businesses that support independent filmmakers. According to founder and president, Debra Hendron, "I love indie films. To me they are art and stories first--not designed for a demographic or market to fill a local theater during the summer. Women indie films in general bring different sensitivities and viewpoints that are not commonly seen in main stream media."
The festival, a showcase for women filmmakers, performers and programmers, will be held July 12-30, 2006 at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater. According to co-presenter Altar Magazine's editor-in-chief, Mandy van Deven, "Some of these films are mad as hell, others are sugary sweet, and still others are both or neither (believe it!)." The festival is presented with special collaboration of Yhane Washington / Chicks with Flicks, Maria Pusateri et al / Cinewomen NY, Nancy Schwartzman, Marie Losier, Alex Williams and Ryan Anne Davis / Arab Film Distribution, Gregory Hatanaka / Pathfinder Pictures, Joseph Mauceri / FearsMAG.com, Takeo Hori / Code Red Films-Antidote International, and many others.
